This statement of Faith reflects the United Methodist Church's commitment to a faith that is both personal and communal, emphasizing the importance of grace, scripture, and the transformative power of Jesus Christ.
Families and students are not required to be of the Christian faith or attend church of any kind to attend Beaver Ridge Hybrid School, nor are they required to agree with the statement of faith. However, by enrolling at Beaver Ridge, families agree that:
- Their child may participate in a brief weekly Bible lesson, given by the church pastor, which may tie into lessons that are being taught in the classroom
- Students and parents will act respectfully toward the church, its property, and its faith based environment
- Students and parents will act respectfully toward all other students, families, and staff members within the program’s body, regardless of beliefs or background
Our goal is to foster a welcoming community where families of diverse backgrounds feel respected and valued.
Beaver Ridge Hybrid School policies and operations are based upon the following Statement of Faith:
1. God: We believe in one living and true God, who is eternal, holy, all-powerful, all-knowing, and ever-present. God is the creator and preserver of all things, existing in three persons: the Trinity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
2. Jesus Christ: Jesus is recognized as God’s only Son, who became human, lived a sinless life, and sacrificed Himself for the sins of humanity. His resurrection and ascension into heaven are central to our beliefs, and He is the way to salvation.
3. Salvation: Salvation is viewed as a gift from God, available to all who believe in Jesus Christ. It is not earned through good works but is received through faith and grace.
4. The Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is believed to be present and active in the world, guiding and empowering believers. The Spirit is essential for understanding spiritual truths and living a Christian life.
5. The Bible: We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the primary authority for faith and practice. It contains all that is necessary for salvation and living a life pleasing to God.
6. Wesleyan Tradition: Our Wesleyan Tradition places an emphasis on faith in action, combining scriptural authority with tradition, experience, and reason.
7. The Church: The church is seen as the community of believers, called to worship God, support one another, and serve the world. We emphasize the importance of discipleship and living out one’s faith in community.
8. Grace: We believe in three forms of grace: prevenient grace (which draws individuals to God), justifying grace (which brings forgiveness and salvation), and sanctifying grace (which helps believers grow in faith).
9. God’s Love and Grace: A belief that all children are beloved creations of God, we focus on a welcoming, safe, and inclusive atmosphere.
10. Sacred Worth: Every child is created in the image of God.
11. Academic and Spiritual Growth: Nurturing the “whole child” by blending academic curiosity with spiritual development and Christian character building.
12. Mission: Our mission is to love God and neighbor, encouraging compassion, love and community service that emphasizes justice and mercy in the world.
